I’ve been using SF Organics for 7 years. I use it on vegetable plants, annuals, perennials, my flowering vines, also on my roses. Plus when I put my orchids and other house plants out for the summer season, I use the liquid fish once or twice a month, my flowers love it! They bloom and grow so well. I recommend using their products. You will have Happy Plants!

I have been using SF Organics for several years. My lawn gets a good soaking every spring. My perennial beds get a few sprays during the spring as well. I also use it on my vegetable and cuttng garden. My plants are robust, green and have plenty of blooms! I have been pleased with the results, and all of my neighbors comment on my beautiful garden! I like using a natural product since my garden is teeming with ladybugs and praying mantis.

Harlan and Steven are the 3rd generation to farm Shady Nook Farm. They formed a partnership in 1966 and are still farming the family farm. The farm consists of 85 acres on the home farm and 37 acres rented. The farm is in “Clean and Green” and “Land Preservation” and is in the process of being passed down to the next generation. Both partners worked off farm jobs for some 35 years plus running the farm. …Crops consist of main crop corn and other crops; wheat, barley, oats and hay. They also are always looking and trying something new. Mostly in seed corn, fertilizer and additives. SF Organics (Schafer Liquid Fish previously) has been used in the corn rows for the last 15 years. This year, they added kelp to the mixture. The fish/Kelp mixture was foliar fed to the oats with very good results. |
We applied the SF Organics (Schafer Liquid Fish previously) products you recommended to a 10 acre soybean field as directed and the results were amazing. The crop has shown excellent growth and maturity in the wake of extremely dry weather conditions. The plants show exceptional growth and are heavy with pods, many more than we have seen with conventional fertilizers. Pod fill is exceptional as well. SF Organics appears to have saved the crop in an otherwise challenging weather season. We are anxious for next years harvest time and anticipate another record yield. Thanks so much for the products and direction given. We’ll definitely be in touch again next year.

We are a medium sized alpaca farm in the Eastern part of Virginia. Until nine years ago the land was heavily forested with mixed pine and hardwoods. After a hurricane leveled all the timber we converted the land to pasture for alpacas. Trees are hard on soils and even with much soil testing it was hard to get a good stand of grass established.
We began by using chemical fertilizers. This would produce a beautiful flush of growth that would last for maybe a month. It did not hold up well to grazing and recovered poorly afterwards. We also found the alpacas needed to have calcium supplements due to the poor forage.
There had to be a better way. The fertilizer was expensive, didn’t last long, and we still had to supplement. That’s when we met Jerry Becker of Profit Pro at a fair he told us about Schafer Liquid Fish (Now SF Organics). We tried some on a one acre paddock for a season and were amazed with the results. The grass came in very lush and strong and lasted the whole season. When we rotated animals out, the paddock recovered much faster.
We have since been using it on the whole farm since 2009. Every spring and fall we spray about 5 gallons per acre and add some kelp for root growth. When we pull animals out of a pasture we again spray that pasture to speed up recovery and keep the forage healthy. Pastures can be grazed in 20 days as opposed to 90 days or more. At times when we are heavily stocked, I have sprayed this product with the alpacas in it! We spray about 1 gallon per acre between pasture rotations. They don’t seem to mind the smell a bit.
A bonus we have found with using this product is that we no longer have to treat the whole herd with calcium paste! This product also contains the fish bones, which are made up of calcium, in it. We have not had one case of rickets and the animals fleece is bright and strong, no tender spots in it.
One thing we have to do different with this product is apply it when we move animals and we started using a brix meter to monitor the sugar level in the forage. Begin by placing a small amount of forage in a steel garlic press. Do NOT add water! Squeeze a couple of drops on the pris, of the brix meter and take a reading. Do this in several places in your pasture to get a good average sample.
Our pasture is mainly orchard grass with about 10% white clover. When we check the brix content in the morning we get about 2-6% which tells us nothing. The sugar is in the roots. If we check in the afternoon on a sunny day we get a reading of 10-11% which includes a bit of clover. When the forage begins to get stressed we will get a reading in the afternoon of 5% or less. Then its time to spray fish again and keep our alpacas happy!

After using Schafer Liquid Fish on the heavily shaded portions of our lawn for four years, we are proud to say it now looks as green and healthy as anyone could wish. We were tired of reseeding every year, watching it sprout and then quickly die off. The first year with Schafer Liquid Fish gave us some hope, and we continued to apply it by spray 3 to 4 times a season. The results are amazing considering the deep shade and the poor soil on our lot. We are well pleased.
